FAQs
What activities are on offer?
The schedule of activities is being arranged currently, but often includes canoeing, zip-lining, rock-climbing, assault courses, pizza making and team building games.
How are the bedroom groups organised?
The children will be in single-sex rooms of between 4 and 6 children. Each room has its own ensuite bathroom and shower. We ask the children to name up to three friends they would like to share with, and we guarantee they will have at least one of those friends with them. The groupings are subject to change up until the day we arrive, so we do not share them with children or parents.
What is the food like?
Lunch is the main meal of the day, with a variety of options. Food miles and food waste is important to Mill on the Brue, and they cook with ingredients grown on site, or from a local farm wherever possible. For special diets, please arrange a meeting with school to discuss further.
How long does it take to get there?
The journey is around 1 hour by coach.
What if my child wets the bed?
We let the MoB staff know if a child may have an issue with bed wetting. They will install a waterproof sheet under the normal bedsheet provided. The bathroom is private and a child may change into pull-ups if needed without other children knowing. School staff will discreetly check and support your child if they have an accident.
Can my child bring their mobile phone?
No, we do not allow children to bring their phone to Mill on the Brue. We find that phone or text contact with parents often can make the child miss you more! School staff will be in regular contact with St. Michael's and any urgent messages can be shared, though this is a very rare event.
Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance
If your child cannot go to MoB because they are ill, this insurance would allow you to claim the money back. If MoB decides to close or cancel the trip altogether, they will refund all money.
Your child is covered for accidents and emergencies while at MoB by the site's insurance and risk assessments.
